How we see children

Children learn by playing. That is the whole idea behind the 8-Point Learning Program. Through play, your child gains new skills and meets developmental milestones. Our teachers are caring and compassionate, and they build the foundation here in a fun-filled, play-centered room. The program runs under the direction of Debra Sparks Allison, who holds a BA in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Education.

The curriculum gives teachers a set of guidelines to follow, and play is how the children move through them. Lessons mix learning with fun, and students are encouraged to express their uniqueness. Academic skills grow alongside the arts, so children build confidence as well as knowledge. It is the kind of day where a child is working hard and having a ball at the same time.

Debra Sparks Allison has run three successful dance studios over 38 years. She taught at the college level as an adjunct professor, and she owned and directed a non-profit Ballet Company. The student-to-teacher ratio here is 4 to 1, so each child gets real attention. The center sits in the Council Rock School District. Ask us about enrollment and anything else you want to know.

What you notice in practice

Teachers get down to a child's eye level to talk and listen. They follow what a child is interested in rather than pushing a set script. Small groups mean each child gets a turn and a response. When a child is stuck, a teacher stays nearby and helps them find the next step.

Rooms are set up so children can move between activities and choose. There is space for playing, dancing, and learning. The day has a rhythm: active play, quieter table work, and time with the group. Materials sit within reach so children can pick them up on their own.

How we work with families

Teachers share what happened during the day when you arrive at pickup. You hear about what your child tried, who they played with, and what they made. If you have a question about your child's progress, ask your teacher. Parents tell us this preschool is something special.

Starting somewhere new takes time, and we go at your child's pace. Families meet the teachers first, then we work out the first days together. Some children settle in fast and some need a few visits, and both are fine. If you want to talk through how drop-off will go, just ask.
