Get in touch
Call (215) 579-5678 or email 8pointlearning@gmail.com. Tell us your child's age and the days you need. Debra Sparks Allison, the director and teacher, will get back to you to talk through what fits. From there you can set up a time to see the classroom and meet the teachers.

Tour the room
See the classroom your child would join and meet the teachers who run it. Bring your child along so they can look around too. You will get a feel for the room, the toys, and the daily rhythm. Ask anything on your mind.

Enroll and settle in
Complete the enrollment forms and pick a first-week schedule that suits your child's routine. Children settle in at their own pace, so we take the first days gently. A parent stays close at drop-off until your child is comfortable. Ask us anytime about how the week is going, and we will tell you what we see.
What to have ready
Most families bring enrollment forms, a current health form and immunization record, plus emergency contacts and the names of people allowed to pick up. We will let you know exactly what we need and when. If your child has allergies or a medical plan, bring that too. Ask us if you are unsure about any form.
Pack a full change of clothes in a labelled bag, and add outdoor gear that matches the season. A comfort object or small nap item helps if your child uses one. Label water bottles, jackets, and shoes. Everything that goes home should have a name inside.
Before the first day, decide who drops off and who picks up, and tell us those names. Talk with your child about what the morning will look like. Let us know how you prefer to hear about the day. We will follow your lead on what feels right for your family.
The first weeks
The first days often start with a shorter stay and a familiar object from home tucked in a cubby. A teacher greets your child by name at the door. You can stay a few minutes if that helps. Some children walk right in; others need a little longer.
At pickup, teachers tell you what your child did, what they ate, and how they rested. You will hear about new friends, favorite toys, and small wins. Most children settle within a few weeks. If your child needs more time, we will make a plan with you.

Days are built around arrival, play and learning, and time with friends. The preschool day runs Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30AM to 12:30PM. Children move through activities with teachers nearby. Pickup closes the morning.
How will I know how my child is doing?
Parents usually hear about the day at pickup, when teachers share what your child played, made, and ate. You can also ask questions anytime. We will tell you how your child is settling in.
Do you offer part-time or flexible schedules?
Schedules depend on your child's age group and what openings we have, so ask us what is available for the days you need. We will tell you honestly what we can offer your family right now.
What if there is no place right now?
You can ask us to let you know when a place opens for your child's age. We will keep your details and reach out if something becomes available.
