What to expect

A young child’s mind is like a sponge with an incredible capacity to learn. Our program presents lessons to spark their interest so that they can be active learners at this special time in their lives!

Every day is an exciting new adventure for a student at our Newtown Preschool 8 Point Learning Program. Whether it’s walking barefoot in oobleck, learning a new song on the piano, caring for baby chicks, playing a harp, or visiting a farm, there is always a new subject to explore and opportunities to learn at our preschool program.

What this looks like in practice

In a preschool day, children gather first for group activities like experiments, songs, and language lessons. Then they move into stations, where small groups work on fine motor skills, writing, and math. Teachers watch how each child approaches a task and adjust the next step. A four-to-one ratio means more individual attention when a child needs it.

At home, you may notice your child holding a crayon differently, writing letters, or counting objects out loud. Those small shifts come from repeated practice in the preschool room. Children also carry home new songs and questions about the world. Daily experiments and creative work feed that curiosity, and the skills build one on top of another.
